SURFING WALK OF FAME
Kim " Danger Woman" Hamrock is one of the most inspiring surfers and has paved the way for the modern woman surfers world wide with her skills and ability to ride any type of surfboard in any size waves ranging from one foot to thirty foot plus.
She started surfing consistently when she was 16 years old and started an incredible surfing career at the age of 30, while raising three children, that lasted for over 16 years. With a dozen USA Championship titles and a World Longboard title (2002). Being inducted into the prestigious Surfing Walk of Fame (2005), Kim was named 'Woman of the Year’. At the age of 45 (oldest contender) Kim was crowned the Longboard Champion at the famous Banzai Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii (the first ever all women's event). Also, she made the finals in the short board division and was awarded the special ‘Averal Award’ for charging the hardest. That same summer Kim was the runner-up for the XXL Big Wave Event. Moreover, she was the first woman to ever paddle surf and tow-in surf at Dungeons (one of the biggest meanest waves in the world, located at the tip of South Africa). Kim was there as the first woman to ever be invited to compete in the Red Bull Big Wave event.
Another very prestigious event Kim was invited to surf in (as the only woman for many years) was the Invitational Central Surf Longboard Tube-riding Competition at Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. Better known as the 'Mexican Pipeline'. There are only 32 competitors from around the world that were invited to surf in this event and there were many men that coveted that position.
Kim is a pioneer in women's big wave surfing and has inspired both men and woman alike.
Kim's passion is to teach others how to reach beyond their limits taking it one more level!
Kim is highly energetic and you can't help to get caught up and want to ride her wave of enthusiasm with the same daring, go-for-it attitude.
